The PortTech Los Angeles Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Stan Tomsic as Interim Executive Director for the organization, effective immediately. As a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and venture adviser, Tomsic brings to the position more than 25 years of experience in technology startups.  "We are fortunate Stan is serving PortTechLA in the role of Interim Executive Director. Stan’s deep understanding of the organization puts him in the perfect position to guide PortTechLA through a smooth management transition,” said PortTechLA Board Chair Herb Zimmer. “Stan has great connections with the investor community and knows PortTechLA’s clients, programs and overarching goals.”

Before joining PortTechLA, Tomsic founded and co-founded several companies where he held management and executive positions. As a member of Pasadena Angels and partner of ACODA Technology & Investments, Tomsic is active in providing strategic assistance and investment consulting services to start-up businesses. He is also co-chair of the LA Metro area Clean Tech Open, the world’s largest clean tech business accelerator competition.

“We’ve brought on several new client companies that are positioned to create jobs, and I look forward to expanding our client base even further,” said Tomsic. “In cooperation with the Port of Los Angeles, we will continue to expand the reach of our organization with events including forums, workshops and the PortTechEXPO.”
