PortTech Los Angeles' sponsors, both public and corporate, provide many of the resources required to develop the programs and services that allow our client companies to create deliverable clean technologies for the maritime industry.

The unique public/private partnership that has become PortTechLA was born in January 2008 at a meeting between the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce and Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Dr. Geraldine Knatz.  Since that time, the Port of Los Angeles, a proprietary department of the City of Los Angeles, has become PortTechLA’s principal sponsor through its financial, technical and personnel support. Key Port staff members sit on the PortTechLA Board of Directors.

Siemens has supported PortTechLA since 2011, when they first became a Platinum Sponsor at the PortTechEXPO. In 2012, Dr. Lee Ng, Director of Venture Technology, Siemens Technology-to-Business Center presented at the EXPO as well.
