Need a consultant? Don’t know how to construct the marketing section of your business plan? How about that bank loan application with all of those enclosures and hard to understand terms and conditions? Then, it’s time to talk with us about providing you with some mentoring, some consulting, possibly even some training. We’ve been there, and we know what keeps you up at night!

Here’s how we do it. We have a special relationship with the LA Regional Small Business Development Center: a system of SBDC’s that span the County of Los Angeles and provide free consulting to companies that register for help. This might range from assistance in understanding accounting statements, to completing the paperwork for that bank loan. As a representative of the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBDC provides many of these services free of charge. SBDC also delivers training through seminars on various supplemental topics offered for a (very reasonable) fee.

Clients of PortTechLA participate in the training programs at no charge because they have a separate space rental or services contract. Now here’s the good part. In addition to what the SBDC provides, PortTechLA has its own network of technical consultants who are subject matter experts in their chosen fields such as electrical engineering, venture finance, environmental and intellectual property law, etc. So, when you become a client you have access to the free stuff, but also to the more technical stuff, and the ability to work with us on an up close and personal basis. Clients in incubation programs get a lot more out of their time in the incubator because they don’t have to waste a lot of time searching around for help. We have a pretty good idea of who to talk to, and you’re the beneficiary of our knowledge.

Shouldn’t you be part of the program? Contact us and find out...
